Annual Picnic & Softball Game

Join us for a day of fun and food at the park. It will be a great day for students and their families to get together, relax and have some fun.

Be sure to invite other family members and friends.
We will be meeting at the open field in Clove Lakes Park
which is right off Royal Oak Road.


Students should wear sport clothing, NOT gi’s. Bring gloves, balls, bats, sunblock, drinks, snacks, chairs, blankets and anything else you normally bring to a picnic.


DIRECTIONS
From Clove Rd. West on Victory Blvd. (towards Manor Rd.), make right at Royal Oak Rd., go approximately ¼ mile (between Potter & Rice Aves.), open field on your right.

From Manor Rd. East on Victory Blvd. (towards Clove Rd.), make left at Royal Oak Rd., go approximately ¼ mile (between Potter & Rice Aves.), open field on your right.

Staten Island Seido Karate Children’s Tournament

Last Sunday's Children's Tournament was a huge success. More than 40 spectators packed the gym at Notre Dame Academy to watch 30 brave students participate in events such as kata, technique shiai and breaking. The students showed a tremendous amount of spirit and enthusiasm in all events. Especially thrilling was the kumite (sparring) event that had 6 competitors competing in a show of true Seido spirit and determination culminating in a very well fought final bout between Colin (black belt) and Esme
(adv. yellow belt).

Although some students took home trophies and certificates for placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, there truly were no losers at this tournament. All the students showed strong technique and spirit and handled themsevles in a very respectable way whether win or lose.

We'd especially like to thank all the parents, family members and friends who supported the children. We'd also like to thank all the seniors and volunteers who assisted at the tournament. Without your participation this event could not have been the success it was.

We're looking forward to this being another popular annual event added to the Staten Island Seido calendar.
